Try, Try Again: Digging Into The Vacant Care Sub-Plot

I scrapped a song early in the process of writing Vacant Care. When I say early, I'm talking the stage where I recorded example flows and random bars to gauge my own interest in making an album around a certain subject.

I didn't write much down in this phase. It was all about the feel and atmosphere around these ideas.

This was going to be what turned out to be a sort of breadcrumb narrative hidden in a few tracks.

There's 7 instances where I use the word try/tryna within verses or hooks. It's deliberate, and is done in such a way where I present an argument that flows into the next set of bars that use the word.

This chain of thoughts, (Dusty Voice)if you will, is what I wanna go over in this article.

idc:

reach no doz Huns. cheep-cheeps wanna
flip quarters at me then try to preach, sheesh...

...

when the choir sympathize ya know it's only a joke
from one more throat tryna jive for pole
I don't like the notion of anyone thinking they can big league me, then turn around and give a lecture like they're super pure and wise by comparison. Help is nice when it's provided. Unless asked, one should tread lightly when it comes to giving their two cents on most things.

Once you flaunt wealth as an indicator of your dominance, you lose me as a willing participant in the science fare that is your social life. I'm not giving anyone a blue ribbon for their paper mache Volcano when all I can see is chocolate cake mix around a paper towel tube, with a super soaker shooting hot sauce out the top of it.

We are all taught to look at money as being "The root of all evil". It's a BS way to look at things, considering the level of importance money has in everyone's life. You are required to go out and get it, unless you actually enjoy having nothing whatsoever to your name.

On the other hand, I can sort of understand how such an idea came about. There are people who are willing to do just about anything to get money. They'll even go as far to say that they love someone if it means they'll get financial compensation for the transaction.

Heavy:

slumming under glyphs, the witch curse
I heard her on the other side, Funkdafied, there in a skirt
under gifts, there's an energizer to size up
which one of you Brats here tryna try sum'n

...

I ain't tryna trash these... who front clucks
...the once was or ...a rushed buzz

Of course, you'll never be able to force anyone into an honest position. Everyone possesses freewill. They can do whatever they see fit, and you'll never be able to take that away from any of them.

The dishonest ones take advantage of the situation by playing on others expectations and emotions. They'll pretend to come at you with good tidings, when the gift is actually a form of misdirection meant to distract or confuse you long enough to carry out their true mission.

I'm not Batman, so don't count on me to suit up and hunt down the weirdo's who should be in the real life version of Arkham Asylum right now. Tearing cats down isn't ever gonna solve the problem. There's always more to pop up and play these roles no matter who wants to Twist with the devil as the hound of justice in the pale moon night.

Sayin':

the waste cone of ya blast to stay stowed
with an agony passion: up in the face, domed
plate sconed, you saying 'cheerio' on the topic
of tryna base profits, but y'all don't hear me through

Denial is just an OP tactic for protecting your best interests.

All could be lost...You're looking around and see nothing salvageable from your once successful and lucrative endeavors. There's still no reason to own up to your faults simply because no one is truly obligated to admit anything.

What does the grifter gain by telling you the ins and outs of their scheme? Why do you even need a confirmation for something that is(potentially) already known? On what grounds do you think the person in question will ever seek to change their ways if they can go back to the same well and get more wins using the same playbook?

Depth of Field:

spit a fair one! from ya heart, a Flair come
...he tryna scare up funds
....wait a minute, now he through
the coroner who? ...

I do believe that people have the ability to change. It's not likely to happen most of the time, because the world around them doesn't change enough to warrant it.

You can promise different actions to most, and wind up getting a groundswell of support for this proposed effort before putting anything into action. Folks get real naive at the hope of seeing or being involved with a character arc of someone rebuilding a part of their life from the ground up.

What happens If this new version of the same person winds up doing the same thing they always did before? Who's gonna step in and clean up that mess? You can't count on the people who made the mess, because they are smart enough to hightail it out of town before being presented with the bill.
